ZooCow.com -- ZooCow or Zoo Cow

ZooCow.com -- Zoocow or Zoo Cow

--Ogden Nash
ZooCow: a mash-up of human-behavior study and mooolgy, using bovine methodology, involving cud chewing and lackadaisical observation.
--Your webmaster

"ZooCow" is one of those goofy terms that humor and greeting card sites (Moonpig?) seem to choose. As far as we know, there are no zoo cows, but what do we know? Yes, there have been cows in zoos, for instance, the late Aggie, but no animal species called by this term.

We acquired this domain simply because it created an earworm in our collective head--GAHHH, get out, get out!--not because of its amazing stats.

But, then, if you were looking for natural high-traffic domain names, you wouldn't be here, now would you?

Once you hear it, ZooCow is a term that a listener will not soon forget, which makes it a great term for a potentially high-traffic website. We can't promise that ZooCow will be the road to your financial success, but we can say that this domain has all the characteristics of a fine brandable domain.

It passes the radio test with flying colors, while also being a visual name, ready for internet, TV, and print media advertising.

"ZooCow" and "Zoo Cow" do not appear on the USPTO.gov data base. Neither do typos "SooCow" and "Soo Cow."

“The frost makes a flower, the dew makes a star.”
 --Sylvia Plath, Ariel

So we think of the famous (and doomed) poet Sylvia Plath, also the beekeeper's daughter and one who was obsessive with the metaphor of bees, hence, the bees in the first logo.

Aside from the literary connection, “Zylvia” is a quintessential company name: short, memorable, appealing, and with a somewhat familiar feel to it.

This is also a variant of  “Sylvia,” a girl's name.

“Zylvia” was not found in the USPTO.gov or Trademarkia.com data bases. However, there are two live trademarks on “Sylvia” (a comic strip) and “Sylvia's” (seasonings, sauces, and barbecue sauces) and several where “Sylvia” is part of the mark. We tell you this because “Zylvia” might be viewed as a typo of “Sylvia” (“Z” is close to “S” on the keyboard), particularly if your product is the same or similar to one of the established live marks. For legal information on trademark law, consult with an attorney.

Zedona.com -- Zedona

Zedona.com -- Zedona

On Approaching Sedona

Unexpected rise:
Landscape on nature’s canvas,
Vortex in red rock.
_________________________

"Zedona" is a cool wordplay on the city of Sedona, a lovely place that will absolutely take your breath away, should you be so lucky to visit there. It is a city of red rocks, vortexes, hiking, shopping, visiting, lodging, rock hounding, attractions, fine dining -- anything having to do with tourism.

Zedona.com could be a go-to site for all that is Sedona. As of this posting (August 13, 2013), Sedona.com, Sedona.net, and Sedona.org are not being used as city directories or tourist bureaus for Sedona but are in use for unrelated purposes (Disclaimer: Sedona.co, Sedona.biz, and Sedona.us are Sedona-related).

On its own terms, Zedona is just one of those terms that begs to be developed into something important and profitable, lending itself to being a catchy and memorable company or brand name.

We are surprised that this appealing domain has not yet found its niche.

Zedona is also a girl's name; in today's domain name market, registering a common first-name dotcom for a newborn is impossible, but unusual first names are still within financial reach. Acquiring a beautiful name like Zedona.com on the aftermarket is an option that could save you money in the long run.

No trademarks on "Zedona" were found on the USPTO.gov or Trademarkia.com data bases.

ZZZus.com and ZZZUSA.com -- ZZZus or ZZZ US; ZZZUSA or ZZZ USA

ZZZus.com-- ZZZ US
______________

ZZZusa.com -- ZZZ USA
______________

It is a common experience that a problem difficult at night is resolved in the morning after the committee of sleep has worked on it.
-- John Steinbeck
____________________________

“ZZZ US” and “ZZZ USA” can mean only one thing: comfortable sleep and all that contributes to that goal.

These are two of the best sleep names on the market because the brand (with an emphasis on “us” or “U.S.”/“U.S.A”) hones in on what is most important: the national obsession with sleep and lack thereof. Your product, whatever it is, can help solve the national sleep debt singlehandedly. If your product can pull off this miracle–and these terms are good starts–then your customers will be happy and well-rested, and your company and its profit margins will make you and your stockholders very happy.

“ZZZ us” should be considered a visual as opposed to an aural brand name. “ZZZ us” might be difficult to advertise on the radio, unless the speaker spells out each “Z.” Because it is such a short name and the “ZZZ” a familiar symbol for sleep, this is not a major impediment, but the pronunciation may be muted on radio spots.

On the other hand, “ZZZ USA” lends itself very well to radio spots, and here's why: by pronouncing each letter and including the TLD (Z Z Z U S A dot com), with emphasis on “U.S.A” (invoking a patriotic company), you can create a natural sounding jingle. Using the rule of three, sing three times, and your customers will remember your web address. In many ways, ZZZUSA.com is superior to ZZZus, although it is longer. But that is for the buyer to decide.

Both domains would display well on TV, the Internet, and billboards.

As of 8/8/2013, no trademarks were found for these terms (ZZZus, ZZZ US, ZZZusa, or ZZZ USA) at USPTO.gov or Trademarkia.com.

Zippot.com -- Zippot or Zip Pot

ZipPot.com -- ZipPot or Zip Pot
_______________

The purpose of art is washing the dust of daily life off our souls.
-- Pablo Picasso
_________________________________

"Zippot" or "Zip Pot" could be a brand name for medical or recreational marijuana products; in some states, marijuana is already legal for medical and/or medical use, so this would be a great name for your legal marijuana product.

If branding marijuana products is not appealing to you, this term is a natural for a potter who creates handmade art pottery.

With the "Zip" added to "Pot," you could become the next Mad Potter of Biloxi and create madcap pieces of pottery.

As of 8/7/2013, we found no trademarks for the singular "Zippot" or "Zip Pot" on the USPTO.gov and Trademarkia.com databases.

However, there is a trademark on the plural "Zip Pots" for "agricultural containers, namely, containers for holding seeds and growing plants."

Therefore, you would need to consult with a trademark attorney should you decide to use "Zip Pot" in commerce for the manufacture of industrial containers.

Also, you would need to take care in avoiding any confusion with the famous Zippo trademark--manufacturing or advertising any kind of cigarette lighters would probably be an unwise move.

We took great care in developing a logo that avoids any confusion with any other company's mark.

Perhaps a snazzy, catchy, and memorable name like "ZaDesk" or "Za Desk" will help draw reluctant scholars to your center.

Zequin.com and Zequins.com -- Zequin and Zequins

Zequin.com -- Zequin
_______________

Zequins.com -- Zequins
_______________

Some people need sequins, others don't.
--Edith Head
_________________________________

What a sparkly name for a night club, restaurant, bar, or any hot spot where trendy people gather.

As with many "Z" names, Zequin/s would also be a great name for an internet start-up.

For whatever use, Zequin or Zequins is zippy, catchy, colorful, and memorable.

Also, Zequin and Zequins are actual words, variants of "sequin" and "sequins."

As of 8/3/2013, according to USPTO.gov, there is a dead/abandoned trademark on "Zequin" for an ophthalmic pharmaceutical medicine for the treatment of conjunctivitis, so if you plan to use this term for a pharmaceutical product, you may want to consult with a Trademark lawyer before purchasing. From a practical standpoint, two meds with the same name might be cause for consumer confusion.

Zooray.com -- Zooray!

Zooray.com -- Zooray!
____________

Joy is a net of love by which you can catch souls.
--Mother Teresa
___________________________

"Zooray," an echo of "Hooray," is a kid name, through and through, appropriate for myriad products and services for children: clothing, shoes, toys, games, daycare, meetup places for kids meeting kids, children-themed restaurants, etc.

Zooray could also be branded for a pet store or even a chain of stores. Unlike many short branded names, Zooray is made up of two short common words: "zoo" and "ray."

Zooray is the kind of name that pops out and grabs customers and draws them in, the kind of name that will brand itself -- definitely an "earworm." This term could easily slip into everyday lexicon.

As of 8/2/2013, Zooray and Zoo Ray have not been found in the USPTO.gov and Trademarkia.com data bases.

Looking ahead, future generations may learn their social skills from robots in the first place. The cute yellow Keepon robot from Carnegie Mellon University has shown the ability to facilitate social interactions with autistic children. Morphy at the University of Washington happily teaches gestures to children by demonstration.
-- Daniel H. Wilson
____________________________

“Zobiot” is a possible generic term for a product of robiotic manufacturing, the inevitable fusion between robotics and biology.

“Zobiot” or “Zobiots” could be a brand name for a manufacturer of robiots, fused robot and bio devices working together to improve our lives: health (a nanobot carrying life-saving organic substances to targeted organs), miniature food supply scrubbers, weight loss and maintenance (Imagine an organic nanobot that could limit the number of calories your body uses each day), self-repairing partly-organic cars and other fused machinery -- you name it: fused organics and robots will be a part of everyday life.

Futuristic? Maybe.

But the future is nearer than you might think, and sophisticated "robiots"/"zobiots" are surely already being manufactured, if only in beta.

Therefore, the buyer can purchase one or both domains, selecting the best one for the company or brand name and redirecting the other domain to its main site.

As of 7/26/2013, no trademarks were found at USPTO.gov or Trademarkia.com for either term.
